Win $8,000 In The NFBKC Online Championship

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Oct 10, 2012 8:28 am

We're proud to be able to offer the largest grand prize in our 6-year history for the NFBKC Online Championship. This year's grand prize is GUARANTEED at $5,000 and it could rise if demand continues to exceed expectations. We've already filled up two Online Championship leagues in the last week and we have several other leagues that are close to filling. It's been an amazing start for this contest and we're excited for this $350 format.

The first Online Championship League of the season is next Thursday night and that one is already filled with 12 teams. We've also filled the Wednesday, Oct. 24th Online Championship League at 8 pm ET. Both of those offerings have been removed from Registration as we're trying to move onto other leagues and fill up as many draft dates as possible. If you see a date and time that you like, please jump in now because we will close them out once they are filled.

Online Championship League drafts will run through Monday, Oct. 29th and we still have a lot of dates and times available. Below is a look at the current signup list for these offerings. Thanks everyone for making this first week of signups so successful and good luck to everyone in the hunt for this year's $5,000 grand prize.

The NFBKC Online Championship prize pool is based on 6 full leagues and we are happy to report today that we already have 6 FULL LEAGUES!! That means it's time to expand the overall prize pool with every additional league after this!!

As you can see from the Countdown page this morning, we already have 21 additional signups for the Online Championship and we are doing all we can to fill a 7th, 8th and maybe 9th Online Championship league. More than $1,200 is added to the overall prize pool with each additional league, so everyone wins if we add more Online Championship leagues. Our next available Online Championship League is set for this Saturday at 2 pm ET. We have 7 SPOTS LEFT!! Look at the signup list above as I just updated that one this morning and jump in where you see openings.

We have taken off Registration some of the full leagues. We want to narrow down the choices as these leagues fill, so don't delay. We could grow the grand prize and/or the other overall prizes as we grow beyond 6 full leagues. We'll determine the final disbursement once we've finalized the Online Championship, but it looks like more is going to be available.

Thanks all. We are very pleased with the early signups, but we know more are coming. Pay drafts start tomorrow. The next two weeks should be a lot of fun in the draft room. See you there and THANKS.

Today we SOLD OUT our 8th NFBKC Online Championship League, which means you folks will be rewarded with a bigger overall prize pool. We are adding more than $2,000 to the overall prize pool based on the two additional leagues and will announce the exact distribution of prizes once we've finalized this contest. We have a chance for 10 or more total OC leagues, so hang on a bit.

The bottom line is that the grand prize could increase along with all of the other placings. We may also add additional placings to the overall prize pool since we have more teams overall competing for prizes than we expected. It's all good and everyone is going to win because of the increased demand. Great job everyone and this is a great, great sign for the future.

Next year we will have the web site up sooner, Slow Drafts started in July and our prizes bigger and announced earlier. We are excited about the future of the NFBKC and the best is yet to come. Thanks all.

We now have 10 full leagues for the NFBKC Online Championship after setting the overall prize pool based on 6 full leagues. That means one thing: MORE OVERALL PRIZE MONEY FOR ALL OF YOU!!

The grand prize is definitely moving up and could double if we get 12 or more Online Championship leagues. We will also add more overall prizes than just the Top 5 we have now, so there's definitely going to be more top prize money and more people winning overall prize money. Let's finalize these last leagues and then we'll post the increased overall prize payouts.

Thanks everyone for making the 2012-13 NFBKC season such a big success. We knew that there was an interest in fantasy basketball and now we're proving it. In future years, we'll debut each season with a Draft Champions National Championship in July and even look at hosting live drafts in Las Vegas in October. The future looks very bright for the NFBKC.

Thanks again everyone and good luck to everyone during their online drafts this week.

THANK YOU to everyone who signed up to play in the NFBKC Online Championship this year. The demand FAR EXCEEDED expectations and because of that we now have to increase the overall prize pool. We LOVE doing that!! :D

With the short time frame for Registration this year, we expected only 6 full leagues and built the prize structure accordingly. But we finished with 12 Online Championship leagues for a total of 144 teams and now can double the prize pool. We have done that by increasing the number of teams who will cash in the overall prize pool and by increasing 1st place overall to $8,000 and by having four owners win at least $1,000 in the overall.

Here's the new prize pool:

NFBKC Online Championship Prizes
Place Overall League
1st $8,000 $1,400
2nd $2,500 $700
3rd $1,500 -
4th $1,000 -
5th $750 -
6th $500
7th $500
8th $500
9th $500

Again, THANK YOU everyone and enjoy the added prize money.
